I just had to make a quick post about how AMAZING my brother is. This morning I had a weird symbol pop up on my cell phone. I couldn't identify it or make it go away. So I sent my brother Taylor a text asking him about the new icon on my phone that looked like two fish swimming by. Within minutes, Tay had gone online to look up the user's manual for my phone, located the symbol that he thought I would think looked like two fish, called me back and helped me turn off the bluetooth feature I had accidentally turned on. Why I had turned on bluetooth or why the bluetooth icon looks like two little fishies, we may never know. But that's quality service right there. My family spoils me rotten.
About the picture above. I was going to add a photo of Taylor to along with this post. But then I ran across this Photo Shop masterpiece that Tay did of me as Karen Carpenter a couple of years ago. I thought he would actually like that better. So thanks Tay! You're great.

Well, what do you think?
Today on my lunch break, I bought Cheetos, Rocky Road ice cream and an Oprah magazine. And the cashier still had the nerve to ask me if I was having a good day.
Does it look like I'm having a good day?

Smart Little Guy
On that same visit to Grandpa's house, Tyler asked me if he could ride his scooter to the park. So we put on our shoes and jackets and went outside. The park is a ways away. My plan was to let him ride his scooter for a block or two and then make our way back to my Dad’s house. But Tyler’s plan was to ride to the park and, to my surprise, he actually knew where the park was! Smart little guy. So he led the way to the park, with Bryce and I walking behind. When we got to the park, Tyler explored the different toys while Bryce explored all the puddles. He kept asking me if he could drink from the puddles so that I would say, “No, that’s too yucky” over and over again. If you think that my nephews have me wrapped around their cute little fingers, you are absolutely right. And it's my favorite place to be.
Help You
My nephew, Bryce, loves to wear cowboy boots. And sometimes he insists on wearing shorts to bed. Over his pajamas. Does it get any cuter than that?
On his most recent visit to Grandpa’s house, we all went to dinner at El Matador. Bryce was a little restless and I held him in my lap for awhile. We shared some chips and salsa while we were waiting for our food. For a little while, Bryce was content to just eat chips. But then he decided he needed to enjoy the salsa too. So he would take a chip from the bowl, hand it to me and say, “Help you?” My job was then to dip the chip in salsa and give it back to him. Quickly. This kid is an eater.

St. George
On Saturday I went to St. George and did a session at the temple there. It was a beautiful day. I loved seeing the palm trees and feeling the warm sun. It was a fun little mini-vacation. And now I only have one temple left to reach my goal of going to every temple in Utah. Next up: Monticello. The trip also got me excited to go back to Southern Utah sometime this summer. I've never been to the Shakespeare Festival and I also really want to see a play at the outdoor theater at Tuacahn. Road trip anyone? Who's in?

To Do
My boss just called me. On my cell. While I was at lunch. With an emergency. (His word, not mine.) I had to rush right back to the office.
My to-do list for tonight: Get a new phone number.

Moochies
Saturday afternoon we met up with some of my Dad's family for lunch. We ate at a place called Moochies in downtown Salt Lake. I was a little concerned when I heard the address. Moochies is only a couple of blocks from the office where I work and I had never heard of it. Couldn't be that great, right? WRONG. While it was, in fact, a dive (no indoor seating, no fountain drinks or bottled water, pretty sure they wouldn't pass a visit from the state health inspectors) my phily steak sandwich was fantastic. And it was fun to visit with The Fam. With the right company, I would certainly eat there again.

Another One
I bought another picture from the gallery I love in Park City. This is my other favorite. It's official name is A Walk to Remember. No connection to the Mandy Moore movie of the same name, although I happen to like them both. Remember the part in the school cafeteria where Shane West's character (Landon) says, "Maybe I miss spending time with you. Maybe you inspire me." I could watch that over and over. Let's be honest - I have watched that over and over.
Anyway... I spent most of last night staring at my picture on my living room floor. I'm going to hang it in my bedroom. It makes me happy to think it's mine now and I'll be able to stare at it for years to come.

No Hope For Me
I am not going to name any names so don't even ask. But I just had a co-worker ask me in all seriousness to proof-read a document "as someone who doesn't know anything about insurance." I have worked in insurance for seven years.
Seven years.
And apparently I still don't know anything. That's discouraging.

Happy Easter
I love Easter. I love Whopper Eggs. I love Starburst Jelly Beans. I really love Cadbury Mini Eggs. But even more than candy, I love what Easter represents. Several years ago, I was in Hawaii on Easter. I woke up early that morning and read from the Bible the story of the resurrected Savior appearing to Mary in the garden. As I sat on the balcony of my hotel room, overlooking the ocean as the sun came up, I came to appreciate Easter Morning in a new way. The beauty of the creation – and the promise of all the good things that lie ahead – became very real to me that day. I believe that the Savior lived and died and lives again. He overcame the chains of sin and death for you, for me, for each of us. He did all of this out of love. And it is through Him that the things that are wrong in our lives, whatever they may be, can be made right.
Happy Easter!
