In The Jungle

This week, we went to see The Lion King with Jason's Mom and his siblings. (Merry Christmas to us from Grandma Torg!) I was excited to see my first play at the new Eccles Theater in downtown Salt Lake. It's a really pretty theater, each seat has a drink holder, and it has a fun casual vibe. Jason asked me if he had to dress up for the show, and I said no. He did pull a fleece jacket out of the trunk of his car. So that was something.

Before the show, I had "In The Jungle" stuck in my head all morning. "A-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh." So that was fun for everyone. Even more fun was that Jason kept waiting for Elton John to take the stage. All. Night. Long.

Mickey came with us to the play. He was VERY excited for his first Broadway play. Before the show, he practiced acting like a scary lion.

Ok, so Mickey's scary lion face is not really that scary. But we loved the play and it was a really fun night.

Oh, and the morning after, I woke up singing "Under the Sea" from Little Mermaid. So that makes sense.....

More Madness

It's really hard to say who had the most fun. I'll let you be the judge on that.

March Madness

If you're wondering if Dahlia was excited to see the new Beauty & The Beast movie - she was. Belle is her favorite Disney Princess and she has been waiting anxiously for the live action remake.

We braved the opening night crowds and we all loved it, including Grandma Torg. Disney does things up right.
In even more exciting news, the "little boys" were up from Idaho this weekend. It's so nice to have them back from Wisconsin. The early risers went fishing up at Farmington Pond on Saturday morning.

And the basketball fans among us went to two NCAA March Madness games later that day (Gonzaga vs. Northwestern and Arizona vs. St. Mary's.) Tyler and Bryce spotted Elder Bednar, of the Quorum of the Twelve, at the games and said a quick hello.
Those of us who prefer shopping to multiple basketball games IN A ROW went to Station Park. We got new shoes (and socks) for the kids and watched the water fountain show.
You can see that Tanner was Mickey's little shadow during the shopping trip. Mickey was more than happy to introduce Tanner to some of his favorite things: including Stance socks and the fountain drinks and macaroon cookies at Fizz. I don't know where he gets it, but Mickey has much cooler (read: expensive) taste than the rest of us.

And how cute are these Baking Buddies? They loved making chocolate peanut butter chip cookies together - and I take any excuse to make a mess in Grandpa's kitchen. It was a great weekend.

Luck O' The Irish

We had a wee visit from a St. Patrick's Day leprechaun this morning - because who doesn't love sugar cereal and Rolos? I don't mind St. Patrick's Day, but I always feel lucky that green is the color of choice for the Irish. This redhead would be less likely to participate if you had to wear orange or yellow to avoid being pinched.

Little Miss Lauren

I love this girl. This weekend, she very politely informed my friend Sara (who, admittedly, is a talker), "Ummm. Excuse me. You are talking WAY too much."

Translation: When you are talking, I can't be talking. So clearly YOU are talking too much.

Happy Annie-Versary

All my nieces and nephews are my favorite. But sweet Baby Annie will always have a particularly special place in my heart. We got to enjoy her for 10 wonderful days and I can't wait to see her again.

Yesterday would have been Annie's 3rd birthday, and it was fun to receive these pictures of the Annie Bunny and cute Kami Kate. Sweetest sisters.
We love you Annie! Hugs and kisses.

Park City

I think I've said before that Park City is my favorite mini-escape. It's like a 30 minute drive, but it still feels like a vacation when you get there. We went up for a couple of hours on Saturday and enjoyed window shopping through the shops and stores, followed by dinner at my favorite restaurant, Main Street Pizza & Noodle. It was a little chilly and we were glad we'd brought hats and gloves. Mick and Dahlia seemed surprised by the number of women they saw wearing fur coats. Welcome to Park City, my friends, welcome to Park City.

A Very Merry UnBirthday

I just bought myself a new dress for my co-worker's birthday. Because apparently that is the kind of girl that I am.
