World's Cutest Bowlers

So maybe I'm a tiny bit biased. But are these not the cutest bowlers you've ever seen?

Dahlia's "last day of school" bright pink hair. She went swimming a couple of days after this picture was taken, and already the chlorine has taken its toll on the color. She's ok with that because she wanted it to be "more red" than it was.

Ethan only wanted to bowl with the blue ball, which happened to be 15 pounds. Thank goodness for bumpers and those dinosaur ramps.

Happy Birthday Kerry!!!

Jason's Dad would be celebrating his 60th birthday today. We miss him and his kind heart. Also, what I wouldn't give to get my hands on Kaylene's camping sweater.

And don't you just LOVE this pic of the kids? So Mickey. So Dahlia. So Mickey.

I Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore

Enjoyed a quick trip to Wendover to see REO Speedwagon perform. They're not as young as they used to be, but the front man still sounds great. And the bass player was the only one I was honestly afraid might not make it through the end of the show. It was a really fun concert, some great people watching, and kicked off an entertaining night of everyone saying who they would or would not like to see live. Jason surprised everyone by being pretty interested in seeing Phil Collins sometime. Noted.

So... I worked in insurance and risk management for well over a decade. I know, better than anyone, what a huge liability issue it is to have an empty swimming pool under renovation and have some idiot climb down into it. But there was no sign saying "don't get in the pool" and the padlock on the gate was suspiciously left open. It's almost like they wanted me to get in the pool, which I did, for about 2 seconds before I was chased out by an unhappy hotel employee who didn't appreciate my sense of humor. But I got the picture - and thoroughly embarrassed my husband, my dad, my sister and maybe even my brother, although to a lesser extent. I have no regrets.

Good thing Mickey doesn't know about the silly thing I did at the hotel, or he might not have sent us this cute Mother's Day artwork the next day. I had a great weekend. But you really can't take me anywhere. Especially Wendover.

I'm Not Going to Miss My Shot

It was a very sad day for me that Theo was moving across the country. BUT the one bright spot was that Theo's parents had tickets to Hamilton that they suddenly needed to sell. So Jason, being the wonderful husband that he is, bought the tickets for me for Mother's Day. This is Hamilton's first run in Salt Lake and the demand for tickets was outrageous. I did everything in my power to get tickets in my preferred way (i.e. buy them from the theater) but it was not to be. So even though Theo had to move far, far, away, at least I got to see Hamilton. PS - Steph and Brady, you can move back now.

The past couple of weeks, Jason has thought it was funny to threaten to put MY Hamilton tickets up on KSL to see what he could make off of them. Hilarious. (He also thought it was funny to refer to the play as Hamlet and say this would be his first Shakespeare play. Also hilarious.) I wasn't really worried he would do it UNTIL the Jazz had a second round playoff game in Salt Lake the night before. But Jason's brother got a great deal on basketball tickets from a friend, so Jason got to see the Jazz on Friday night and Hamilton on Saturday. Which would have been a dream weekend for him - except the Jazz got beat. Badly.

At least Hamilton was spectacular. And Jason didn't call it Hamlet while we were there, and embarass me in front of all my friends! So all in all, a successful weekend. Unless you were the Jazz.

All Things Theo

Aunt Traci doesn't have favorites. She really doesn't. But seriously. How cute is this kid? He is our miracle baby, born at 25 weeks, and his 1st birthday party was a true celebration. Theo is meeting all his milestones and just recently started crawling. Watch out world. This kid is going places!

I mean, literally, he is going places. His mean parents decided to move him across the country to be closer to his mom's family in Florida. But we sure had a great time with him before he left.

Theo spent a few nights at our house before the big move and I loved hanging out with him after work. And letting him play with all of Dahlia's toys that she specifically didn't want him to play with. Whoops.

He also can go out in public more now, and we loved having him at Dahlia's dance competition. I am not kidding that he had a look on his face for most of the competition that clearly said, "This is not dancing. Step aside." Can't wait for Theo to show us how it's really done.

After his birthday party, Theo was tired and I stole him away for a Sunday Nap. So sweet. I miss him already.
