Roatan Honduras

Our next stop on the cruise was the island of Roatan in Honduras. I think this was our favorite day. We had chosen to do a tour that was not operated by the cruise line and we saw quite a bit of the island. Alvin, our driver, informed us that our first stop would be a beer run. Yippee. Some of our new friends on the tour enjoyed their 75 cent beers. Tricia and I enjoyed our 50 cent bottles of water. (Things are dirt cheap in Honduras grocery stores. Can you believe we got two one-litre bottles of water for only $1.00? On vacation? Yeah, I couldn't either.) And Alvin, the driver, enjoyed a Gatorade.
Scenic overview. Also, throughout our trip, people kept asking if Biz and I were twins. Why would they think that? When we told them we weren't twins, they would automatically assume Tricia was older. They believed that she was 22. They had a hard time believing that I was 32. A really hard time.

Tricia looks very natural holding this monkey.

I do not. I was terrified. Obviously! Have you ever seen a worse picture of me? Don't answer that.

This is the area where we went zip-lining. What an adventure! I loved the jungle views. We did ten different "rides" from one platform to another. We kept climbing higher and higher to do the next run. It was very cool.

After the zip line, we went to West End Beach for the rest of the afternoon. These next few pictures are a good summary of what I believe heaven must look like. A quiet beach with crystal clear water.

Palm trees and chairs.

And brightly colored flowers. Loved our day in Roatan.

  1. Wow this is so awesome and makes me wish for a sister. I love the monkey picture and I am obeying your wishes and not mentioning if I have seen a worse picture of you. We were in Middle school together however.

  2. Oh Ashlee. Your comment made me laugh so hard. Fair enough. Anyone who went to middle school with me will have seen me look worse in pictures. And let's not even talk about Girls Camp!
