Silver Lake

Maybe there's not quite as much "lake" at Silver Lake as there was back in the day. But it's still a pretty drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon and a relaxing nature walk around the lake. Plus you get points for doing something outdoors as a family. So... I'd say Silver Lake on Saturday was a smashing success.

Here Comes the Sun

I wish I liked summer weather better. I really do. Unfortunately, when the temperatures reach the 90's, it does me in. Luckily, I went to Dahlia's softball game on a nice, overcast day. She did great and she's a pretty decent little pitcher, if I do say so myself.

We also had the chance to see the musical Cinderella. I've seen my share of musical theater in my day, and the Broadway production of Cinderella was truly fantastic. I can't believe I've never seen it before. I would go again in a heartbeat.  

You can tell that Dahlia enjoyed it too. This picture was at intermission. She was so fun to watch the play with - especially during the fairy godmother scenes with the lightning fast costume changes. What a treat!

The Graduate

Something about Lauren's Kindergarten graduation picture just kills me. She calls this look her "secret smile" - although no one knows what she means by that. So I guess it is a secret after all.
