Isn't It Ironic?

Today when I got to work, I locked up the bag I brought with my favorite jeans and my iPad. And I was actually thinking about my jeans when I locked them away from potential thieves.

28 again?

Dilemma. I'm pretty sure my new co-workers think I'm a lot younger than I am. And my actual age has not been disclosed. So.... when my birthday comes around next month.... how old do I want to be? If I've ever wanted to get creative with my age, now is the time.

Once In A Lifetime

To show my commitment to 2014 being fantastic, Tricia and I planned a trip to Las Vegas for January. It's warm there and there are lots of places to eat yummy food.

Like McMullans, my favorite Irish pub, where no matter the time of day I always order a spinach and bacon omelette followed by chocolate cake. Because I can.

I also like to spend about ten minutes on the strip, mostly with my eyes closed, to "pop" into some of my favorite stores (pop, get it?) and be reminded that Vegas is a really strange place.

I don't love Ross (motto: we sell the stuff Walmart won't touch) so of course I had to stop in there for some photos.

I also really don't love Carrot Top. Because he's disgusting. I might have changed my hotel reservation if I had known his show was at our hotel. Which would have been too bad because the Luxor is a great place to stay and I never once ran into Carrot Top.

Someone I do love and did run into, however? Celine Dion. Tricia and I were beyond excited to attend her show at Caesar's Palace. Like bouncing off the walls, buying $6 bags of gummy bears before the show excited.

And little did we know what was coming.

Because a couple of songs into the set list, an usher would pull Biz and I out into the hall (which was terrifying because I thought we were getting kicked out of the concert and I hadn't even been taking secret pictures on my cell phone or anything) and ask us if we wanted to move up to two unclaimed seats. ON THE FRONT ROW. I couldn't believe it then and I can't believe it now.

This is what two front row seats look like.

And this is what I look like post-concert sitting in my surprise front row seat.

In front of the stage where my new best friend just performed.
Aaggggggh. Can you feel the excitement?

With the tour tee shirt I felt I just had to buy.

WOW. It's hard to top that. But we did try. Sunday morning we had breakfast with our Aunt Laree, who mostly wanted to take lots of pictures she could send to her sisters to make them jealous. So we did.

Then we drove out to Hoover Dam and amused ourselves with a lot of dam jokes.

Followed by a walk on the temple grounds, where I'm pretty sure I didn't make any inappropriate jokes. I don't think?

In summary, it was an incredible trip. And that, my friends, is the way it is.

Deja Vu

I don't want anyone to think I sit around reading story books to small children all day long. Oh wait, that's exactly what I want you to think.

It's 5:00 Somewhere

The clock outside my office is stuck on 5:00. Which to me means.... it's time to go home.
