So That This Can Be the Top Post

I never like it when my "top post" is whiney in nature.  So let me just remind you how stinkin' cute my nephews are.  I adore these boys.

The Company Party

I'm quite certain that company parties were invented so that people without "significant others" would feel awkward at least once a year.  Should I bring someone?  Should I go alone?  Should I conveniently plan a vacation to the Bahamas? 

I do not love the company party.  It stresses me out.  Does anyone have a boyfriend I can borrow for the night?

Snow Cone. Check.

All last summer I meant to stop at the snow cone shack by my house and get a snow cone.  And I never did.  So last night on my way home from an Institute class I stopped and had a strawberry snow cone with cream.  I felt so productive.  I really did.  It's great to accomplish your goals.

They're Getting So Big

Oh No

I just realized my landlord was going into my apartment this morning to replace the window screens.

I have 65 plastic buckets from the dollar store in my living room, along with rolls of colored butcher paper and about a million popsicle sticks.

I have 12 centerpieces crunched on my kitchen table.

And there are piles of beach towels, sunglasses and flip flops stacked in my second bedroom.

My landlord is going to think he's renting to a crazy person who is absolutely obsessed with summer decor.  (But really I'm just the  Relief Society Additional Meeting Coordinator in my ward... and we have a dinner on Wednesday.)  Aggghhh.  I'm kind of embarrassed.

Summer Sweetness

Lauren's favorite past-time this summer is collecting pinecones.  My favorite past-time is talking about how adorable she is.  We make a good team, Lauren and I.

No More Reaching Out

No one in my office calls or emails anyone anymore.  We always have to "reach out."  It's been driving me crazy for about 6 months now.  Hopefully I will feel better now that I've expressed this.  But I doubt it.

My Latest Obsession

I redboxed the first season of "Downton Abbey" over the weekend.  Big mistake.  I don't want to leave my home until I've watched every episode, six or seven times, and know everything about these people.  Mary and Matthew... Anna and Bates... their lives are now more important to me than my own.

Lava Hot Springs

This is a "better late than never" post....  Two weekends ago, my Dad rented a cabin at Lava Hot Springs for our family to come and enjoy.  It was such a great weekend.  We loved the cabin and the folksy 1970's decor.

We loved the hot pools.  It was relaxing and invigorating, both at the same time.  It's hard to explain really.  But Tyson can tell you all about it.  He talked of nothing else for most of the weekend.

And we loved the outdoor pool and water slides.  Probably my favorite thing was that Lava Hot Springs is a very walkable little town.  You could walk up the hill to the merry-go-round park, down the hill to the market, turn left to go to the river and the pool, or continue down Main Street to the hamburger store, the ice cream/fudge place, the library, the hot pools, and the alligator park. 

It was a dream come true.  Thanks Dad!
